On our Voyage of the Glaciers cruise, encounter unique ports of call that are rich in history, culture and natural beauty. Our voyage on the Discovery in July 2019 surpassed all expectations. Not being keen on big ship cruising, yet having a husband who is reluctant to rough it, a six day trip on this sturdy and surprisingly spacious vessel had to be the ideal solution. Probably one of, if not the best, trips of our long, very well travelled, off the beaten track lives. The Captain and Crew of the Discovery made us feel special during the entire voyage.
Spend the afternoon, or a few days exploring the waters of Resurrection Bay and Prince William Sound aboard the M/V Caroline, a beautiful custom-built yacht set for adventure! The best time to travel to Alaska depends on your priorities. If you're interested in the Midnight Sun, the longest day of the year is June 21, when you can experience close to 20 or more hours of sunlight in some parts of the state. If you're more interested in the Alaska Northern Lights, the earlier sunset in later summer will allow more contrast and better views of this natural wonder. Head to Kenai Fjords National Park in Seward for a whale watching tour.
